This government is truly unbelievable.

Our soldiers are under so much pressure, why add to their pressure by taking away something that they use to relax them. It is the most ridiculous thing, they are under fire from the enemy and here their government is taking their personal choice away from them. They are fighting for our freedom, let our soldiers have the freedom of choice.

If smoking is legal in this country, how is it that it's illegal to smoke? This just doesn't make sence. If the government wants to ban smoking then they should just close down places like R.J. Reynolds. Why even bother with wasting time and money on anti-smoking ads and campaigns? Just cut the head off the source and be done with it.

It will be a crying shame that our military won't be able to smoke but the commander in chirf will be allowed. If obama is saying he's 95% cured from smoking he's a liar. 95% would be one cig a day per pack. I doubt that's possible considering nicotines addictive properties. Since smoking has a 100% addiction rate compared to an 80% addiction rate for heroine and cocaine, what he's saying wouldn't be any different then a heroine or coke addict saying they only inject or sniff once a day. Give Me A Break!!!

With cigarettes being taxed at about $2.00 a pack, where is the government going to get the billions of dollars it recieves off the cig tax once smoking is completely banned? There's going to HAVE to be a tax increase somewhere to replace these funds? They aren't going to let that money just vanish. Well maybe they will. The government lost billions in tax revenue when it let manufacturing jobs leave the U.S. All those workers that paid Federal, State, Local and Social Security taxes were just let go along with the tax money they paid. Thjat's not counting the taxes the companies themselves paid.

Oh well, they can always raise our property tax, sales tax, gasoline tax. Start taxing food. Double license plate fees, start issueing more traffic tickets...
