saying smokeless is as bad as smoking defies common sense of the dumbest person. anyone can look around and find old men chewing tobacco. what one has a hard time finding is an old man smoking cigarettes. They can do studies and and spend all the money they want trying to make smokeless as bad as cigarettes as they want. Except for a pack (pun intended) of lies they will have a big book saying the same thing that Billy-Bob knows now.

Your article on third hand smoke is most intresting. I am 63, my Mom smoked all of my childhood. Smoke always choked me. I ‘ve had sinus, bronchitus, and pneumonia tendencies my adult life. I have not been sick in the 4 years since retirement but once. I went to work 2 days a week in an office that reeks of cig.smoke smell. Usually No one smokes inside now–but my clothes absorb the smell while I am there. I have been sick twice since working there for three months. This time my lungs are heavily congested. Are there any studies in this type of exposure?

How true. This anti-smoking craze, extended far beyond any reasonable scientific reasoning to simply crush smokers, is nothing less than bigotry, dressed up in more acceptable clothing. If one were to replace the word “smoking” in “anti-smoking” with “african-american” or “homeless” or “homosexual” then this campaign for the “safety” of the public would be found unacceptable.

E-Cigs are far less harmful than cigarettes. I personally believe they are essentially harmless, but as I have no real data, other than anecdotal stories from other users, I’ll only claim “less harmful.” The second-hand vapor issue is a non-issue, the average e-cig’s vapor is far less offensive that the aroma issuing from some dowager (or young hipster girl) that dunked themselves in a vat of eau du sexy prior to heading out into the public.

The demonizing of smokers is bigotry, and needs to stop.

I would like to know how and where to get russian, or another country;s cigarrettes legally for my own personal use and consumption for i do not trust american cigarrette companies and think they put harmful chemicals , or non tobacco substances but i enjoy smoking and miss my old tasting marlboro and seneca’s . so if u have any way i may purchase them please email me. i will make sure to check with the appropriate channels to make sure it is legally taken care of. thx . janet leach

I work on a unit of a hospital that is SUPPOSEDLY on a “smoke-free” hospital campus. However, the unit is filled with cigarette smoke by the end of each working day. I have complained to Admin., but was told I was “imagining” the smoke, and was also told “Well, (the patients) smoke”. I think the Hosp. Admin is afraid of losing money if they enforce the smoking ban. WHICH agency would be best able to get the hospital to enforce the smoking ban and how do I keep from getting fired for making a complaint)? (I already have a doctor’s note on file with Human Resources/Occupational Medicine that I need smoke-free environment for health reasons, and this is already known to Admin. I am looking for another job, too, but it seems unfair that I have to leave over the hospital’s violation of the law. However, it’s making me feel sick, and I’ve only been there for a month so far.
