WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., - Reynolds American Inc. has been recognized as a leader in corporate sustainability for the second consecutive year by being awarded membership in the 2009-2010 Dow Jones Sustainability North America Index (DJSI North American), effective Sept. 21, 2009. RAI is the only U.S. tobacco company and one of only 146 North American companies on the index.

Companies are selected based on an extensive evaluation of many criteria,
including corporate governance, risk management, human resources development,
supply chain standards, energy consumption and climate change strategies.
