Are e-cigarettes the healthier alternative to smoking?

The other day an ad for the SmartSmoker electronic cigarette landed in my inbox. Its text, which surrounded an image of a facts about e-cigarettesglamorous woman savoring a smoke, called the e-cigarette “a smart New Year’s resolution” and declared the product “the healthier alternative to smoking.”

Movie Review: Up in the Air

Writer director Jason Reitman began adapting Walter Kirn’s novel Up in the Air in 2002 and intended for it to be his first feature film. Writer director Jason ReitmanHe ended up setting it aside in favor of Thank You for Smoking and Juno, but the delay turned out to be something of a happy accident. As the movie centers around a man whose job it is to go from company to company and tell employees of those companies that they have been laid off, the movie is much more relevant in 2009 than it would have been in 2002.

Movies promote smoking among Mexican-American adolescents

HOUSTON - The more movie scenes of smoking they watch, the more likely Mexican-American youths are to experiment with smoking, researchers at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and Dartmouth College report in the December issue of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.

Tobacco bill’s third discussion in the National Assembly

National Assembly - The National Assembly is deliberating on penalties for people, who violate the tobacco control bill, after Ntional Asamblyre-inserting the clause, which bans sale of tobacco products that was removed by the National Council in the summer session.
